The first thing that happens in a water cycle is well say there is water outside in a cup on a sunny day. The heat evaporates the water in the cup. Here is a picture of water evaporating. After it evaporates then the water will turn into a gas then it turns back to water. That is called condensation. After condensation then the water will come back down which is known as precipitation. Also the water can be evaporated from plant leaves.
The water is absorbed by the ground (dirt, soil, etc.) to make an aquifer or the trees can absorb the water or it can go back to the seas, lakes etc. and the cycle continues again.
Definitions:
Evaporation- is when the liquid turns into a gas.
Transpiration- is evaporation of water from plant and trees.
Condensation- is when water vapor turns back into water in the form of snow, rain, sleet, and hail.
Precipitation- is when clouds make rain, snow sleet, or hail.
Aquifer- is an underground supply of water, plants and roots can grow down to reach the soil, and people can reach it by digging and building wells.
Cycle- something that repeats over and over.
